It's seems like Argentina owes Top Gear a big apology now.

I can't youtube at work. What's the tl;dr version other than that Argentina lost the war?

essentially that it's impossible that they would have purposely ended up with that license plate, and that the people who got offended by it basically offended themselves by making "something out of nothing".

The plate was on the car orginally, and TG was unaware of the "issue". The guys interviewing May are also annoying.

Well, Argentines tend to be massively insecure douchebags, so there's that.

Interesting interview. It highlights something that maybe non-Brits don't realize: number plates are tied to a car from new, and don't change. In much of the rest of the world, the number plate is tied to the owner, and he moves it from vehicle to vehicle, if he so wishes.
Also, I learned that my new headphones are awesome and would be AMAZING for listening to talk radio.

Brian, this is not really an appropriate comment. I'm not going to flag it, but please reconsider re-wording it or removing it.

James, Richard, and Jezza could come around one day and decide to each donate £1,000,000 of their own money to a worthy charity and someone, somewhere would complain.

"They picked the wrong charity! I won't watch Top Gear any more!"

I hope you didn't go deaf with that music at the end. It was about 10 times louder than the interview audio. And yes, I had no idea British cars keep their plates forever. What if a car has a custom plate done by the first owner, does it go with the car when he sells it? Is there no way to change it?

You're right. I'll take back the "douchebags" part but certainly not the "massively insecure" bit.

Also, conspiracy theorists will argue that they saw the car for sale and found an opportunity to use that joke.

It's actually weird to hear radio quality voice with video. It's so crisp and clear its like it has been dubbed over.
Also, ironically my headphones are very popular among radio stations and studios.

I know! Radio never sounds this good in the car. It was magic, the smooth tones of Mr May in my ears.

Yes. He mentioned doing the re-registration process. Probably costs $$$.

These are studio headphones, right?

Yes, but they're very reasonably priced for what they can do. And if you're travelling a lot, they're foldable. The MDR-7506 siblings are supposed to be basically identical (slightly less range, flip up cups instead of foldable) and are even more affordable.
The wiki page is actually quite interesting. If you're into nerdy details, like I am...
